+ About this map
Lake Louise sits inside Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies, one of the largest ski areas in North America in one of its most protected settings. Founded in 1954, it spreads 145 trails across multiple mountain faces, from long front-side groomers to the wide powder bowls and gullies of the back side, topping out at 8,652 feet.
Across the Bow Valley stand the glaciated peaks that ring the lake itself, including Mount Victoria, a skyline that has made the front-side runs famous. For decades the resort opened the World Cup season with its downhills. The contours on this map trace the bowls, ridges, and valley that define it.
